ATTENTION ALL SERVANTS OF THE LORD! Do you feel blessed? Would you like to find a tangible way to give back? We can make it easy for you!! On SUNDAY, SEPTEMBER 11, hundreds of congregations of the ELCA will join together for God’s Work/Our Hands, an annual day of service. On Saturday, September 10, we at COS are partnering with Square Foot Ministries on a home building project in Newnan. This project is the building of a duplex as transitional housing for displaced tornado victims. The work will be light construction, like caulking or painting – the actual building will be complete by then. Or please consider exploring other opportunities to participate in another way. Think of service at a local school, the Real Life Center, Christian City, Midwest Food Bank, or maybe even one of your neighbors’ homes or yards! If the weekend of September 11 doesn’t work for you, choose another day around that time. The date is not the important part of this, it is all about the SERVICE!
In the words of Martin Luther, “Our faith is a living, busy, active, mighty thing.” With our hands, we can do God’s work of restoring and reconciling communities in the name of Jesus.
