Family Inclusive Philosophy
Family seating is situated near the front of the worship space to provide a flexible area where children can play, draw, or create while also remaining part of the worship service. Parents should sit adjacent to the children’s area to encourage children to play quietly and engage in worship as appropriate.
Worship Bags contain items to help children learn the rhythm of worship and participate in concrete, age-appropriate ways. Parents can find instructions on how to guide children in the bags. Ask a greeter where to find these as you enter the service.
Babies and toddlers are always welcome in worship services at Christ Our Shepherd, but we also offer a well-equipped, staffed nursery. The nursery is available for children under age 4 on Sunday mornings. Our nursery staff are trusted members of Christ Our Shepherd who offer a friendly nurturing environment for children.
Growing in faith is both fun and essential, especially with friends. Christ Our Shepherd offers ways to learn more about Jesus’ pathways for us. Classes for all ages are offered on Sunday morning and throughout the week.
wednesday night alive
During the school year, families are invited to share a meal together at 5:30 pm on Wednesday evenings, and children and youth can participate in a range of programs before or after the meal.
You are a child of God...you are wonderfully made, dearly loved,
and precious in god's sight.
Christ Our Shepherd Lutheran Preschool offers small class sizes, experienced teachers, and fun, meaningful learning experiences for toddlers to 4 year olds.
pathway - Elementary
Pathway focuses on elementary-aged children. In addition to Sunday school and Wednesday night offerings, there are opportunities for summer camps, vacation Bible school, and more.
LOGOS - Middle School
The middle school program includes Sunday morning and Wednesday evening programs in addition to monthly opportunities for fellowship and service. During the summer, students are invited to attend Lutherock summer camp in North Carolina. Confirmation classes are offered to all middle school students starting in 6th grade. Confirmation is a three-year program.
LOFT -High School
Living our faith together (LOFT) is our high school youth program. The group meets Wednesday evenings and Sunday mornings for Bible study and discussion.
LOFT members also participate in social events and outreach throughout the year, as well as mission trips in the summer.
Come and relax with us and get plugged into fellowship, meaning, and God!
