Chloe Brown

An abusive earthly father was discouraging his daughter, harping on her weight and her worth. But the daughter hears her heavenly Father declaring her worthy and wonderful.

Weight gain during Covid brings worry. Until she remembers that God’s steady love isn’t conditional on our normal life body fluctuations.

A young lady whose panic attacks increase her sense of isolation as she drops out of college. But God surrounds her with faith friends through church camp.

She wonders if she has anything to contribute. But God uses her video testimony about body positivity to bring encouragement to over 20 million people online.

Chloe Brown is now “followed” on social media by 340,000 people and is sponsored by organizations like LuLu Lemon and Dove products, as she tries to shine Jesus’ light of love by sharing online messages of encouragement as a full time “media influencer.” The response to this past Sunday’s interview with Chloe was very positive and several of you suggested that we make it available again, so please see the link below. Chloe’s story surely is a specific example of how all of us face our own versions of very difficult Life Pressures . . . which can be faced with God’s Promises and People!

If you missed hearing some other possibilities for handling worry, anxiety, and isolation, you can check out the full sermons—and any of our sermons and worship services—here with this link:

Possibility of God’s people.
Permission to admit our problems.
Keep walking through the worry.
Wait on the Lord to renew your strength.
Put your worries in context.
Troubles are inevitable, so make sure you’re “fighting a good fight” and serving God’s will.

Let us pray:

Dear God, thanks for friends in Christ like Chloe Brown who are honest, who gives us examples of how life is hard, but how you are helpful. As we face our stress and anxiety, send us the help of your Holy Spirit so that we might find hope. As we wait on you even in tough times when you feel absent to us, renew our strength so that we can experience your plans for our own wonderful lives as well as being a blessing to others. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

Note:

This upcoming Sunday we’ll conclude our “Under Pressure . . . Under Promises” sermon series. Join us for outdoor worship at 411 Palmetto Road at 9:45 am for “God’s Refreshing Springs of Life.” Laugh with and/or participate in the water balloon toss.  Bring your lunch to enjoy afterward and take a walk on our new hiking trail.  Worship is also offered in our Sanctuary at 8:30 am, and online at 9:45 and 11:00 am as usual.
