Advent
Do you have fond childhood memories of preparing for Christ’s coming with various types of Advent calendars? Most Advent Calendars feature 25 numbered doors/windows, a new one to be opened daily through the month of December. Usually, the calendars my family used featured a Scripture verse of hope or maybe a picture of the season. Over the years, some calendars offered different sweets! Just last week, Aldi was selling Advent Calendar beverage boxes, one featuring a daily wine and the other a daily beer!
While sweets and tasty drinks are fun, what’s really needed by people as we enter the darker days of winter—especially after this pandemic stretch—is HOPE. Hope that our Savior is coming afresh! So, each year, many of our talented COS family contribute to our Advent Calendar/Devotional!

2024
At first commencing new chapters might sound easy. Just turn the page and start. But each one of the new chapters is deeply packed with meaning and nuance, especially recognized within their larger wonderful stories. So, we’re thankful this Lent we can walk with our faithful Co-Author, as the Lord leads us through these days and ways of new chapters.

In the next 40 days of Lent, COS prayerfully seeks that, out of the ashes, the Holy Spirit puts a reformational zest in us for five of God’s life-changing POSSIBILITIES.
