God’s Refrigerator

Dear friend in faith,
“If God has a refrigerator, your picture is on it.”
I love that little word of encouragement. Indeed, each one of our faces is treasured by the Lord. After all, God designed them just the way he wanted! Our refrigerator front is a lot cleaner now that our kids have flown the coop. But still, special pictures find their way up there with a magnet.
Faces of friends and loved ones mean a lot.
It’s fun to receive Christmas cards each year and see the faces of families who bring joy to our lives. When folks post pictures from the past on Facebook or Instagram, it’s always worth a chuckle noting how much we’ve aged. (And yes, beauty is in the eye of the beholder 😀).
Whether watching movies, TV shows, or sporting events, we love googling for a website that shows several pictures of our favorite stars and offers some insightful stats. Especially with football players, it’s fun to put a face with the player hidden by the helmet.
Along those lines, I’m thrilled that COS is putting together a new photo directory in honor of our 60th Anniversary! Word is out: every one wants YOUR picture in it! Together, what a collection of faithful friends it will be.
Hebrews 12:1 reminds us that we are surrounded by a “great cloud of witnesses.”
Yes, each COS attendee is a witness to our Lord of joy and life. And with all your pictures, we can include them on our online Realm directory. So we will be a cloud of witnesses in “the cloud”! Plus, we’re happy to go old-school as well. Hard copies of the directory will be provided as well.
Just like high school or college yearbooks, these new directories will prove helpful and fun immediately and provide cherished memories in the future. Please see further details below to make sure you’re included.

WANT TO SUBMIT YOUR OWN PHOTO?
If the remaining photo dates do not work for you, here are the instructions for submitting your own photo.
You have 2 options for submitting photos:
1. Send a digital copy to Carol Jensen-Linton at [email protected] with your name (and that of anyone else in the photo) in the subject line of the email
or
2. Bring a hard copy photo to church office in an envelope or file folder clearly marked with your name (and that of anyone else in the photo).
There is a $15 fee for submitting your own photo, but this gets you a free copy of the directory when it is printed. Your check for $15, made to COSLC, should be in an envelope marked “COSLC Church Directory, ATTN Carol Jensen- Linton” and delivered to the front office by May 7th.
