Blue Christmas Worship Service 2021 is different from any other. In the 20 years that Christ Our Shepherd has offered a Blue Christmas service, the invitation, though by no means exclusive, has been to acknowledge and affirm that the holiday season is not all jolly, exciting, happy, and of good cheer for some people. Whenever a person or family has experienced loss since the previous Christmas, then the tone of that “first” Christmas without someone you love is hard. Plain and simple, it is hard. That’s why Christ Our Shepherd started Blue Christmas experiences so that ALL have Christmas peace, compassion, kindness and gentleness.

There is another layer to this service in 2021 because every single one of us has experienced a long season of loss. The pandemic required so much change, brought so much loss, and has inflicted a long season of stress, confusion, and frustration. We ALL need something Blue Christmas offers. PLUS…the service is fun, yes, fun. Please come. At Blue Christmas, there will be great music, prayer, Communion, scripture, readings, and most of all EACH OTHER.
