“The people walking in darkness have seen a great Light . . . For unto us a Child is born, unto us a Son is given, and the government will be on His shoulders. He will be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, the Prince of Peace.”     Isaiah 9
“Long lay the world in sin and error pining, till He appeared, and the soul felt its worth.
A thrill of hope, the weary world rejoices, for yonder breaks a new and glorious morn.
Fall on your knees, O hear the angel’s voices, O night divine, O night when Christ was born.”
(One of my favorite passages in Isaiah, and words from one of my favorite Christmas hymns.)
Just to let these words sink in . . . to realize what God has done for us is awe inspiring.
So, as we tend to be sometimes get overwhelmed with the busyness, which is self-imposed, I pray that we take time to be still, to drink in His Spirit and His peace, and to realize that God came to dwell among us, to do for us what we could never do for ourselves. This is how much our Father loves us, what lengths He went to that we might see Him for who He is.
The Lord of love is born, and hope is here . . . and with us always.
Dear Father, we thank you for coming into our world to save us. May Your Spirit, Your love and Your peace fill our hearts, souls and lives during this beautiful season.  In Jesus’s name, Amen.
