2020 was a rough year! Terms like loneliness, frustration, and worry were used by many to describe their experiences with the pandemic. On top of that, an election year unfortunately led others to experience divisiveness, negativity, and animosity. Not pleasant at all!
But what if there’s a better option? The good news is that God wants to use each of us to make the world a better place for everybody. Imagine your weekly schedule surrounded by people exuding love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control. Wow!
At COS, we will use our 2021 Lenten Journey to explore how the Holy Spirit helps Christians enjoy FRUITFUL LIVING as described in Galatians 5. “Lent” comes from an old English term meaning springtime growth. So, exploring how the Spirit desires each of us to grow and bear good fruit daily will tie into Lent’s purposes perfectly. Throughout the 40 holy days of Lent, we’ll explore the 9 live-giving attributes Jesus-followers share to inject a bit more heaven and God’s will into earth each day. Scripture calls them “fruits,” probably because just like fruits’ beautiful color and tasty deliciousness, they bring delight to all who encounter them.
